Ask a librarian Follow my requests

Response time

- The librarians are committed to answering your question within three working days.

The consistency of responses is defined as follows:

- No question will be left unanswered.

- The resource centers closest to users' homes will be suggested.

- In the event of redirection, the most relevant sources of information are given first.

- Sources are cited even when primary information is provided directly.

- The provision of information is accompanied by a methodological and pedagogical approach.

- The number of databases queried during a bibliographic search will be limited.

- This service is not intended to become a remote document supply service: we can locate a document, but if you wish to consult it, you will have to go to the recommended library or contact an inter-library loan service.

Compliance with the legal framework

- Records extracted from databases accessible by subscription and references provided as part of bibliographic references will be limited to a dozen or so.

- Copyright is respected by limiting quotations.

The service provides :

- Information on library resources and services.

- Searches for all types of documents: books, magazines, images, films, sheet music, website address requests.

- Document location.

- Referrals to documentary or other information services: educational guidance, professional organizations, administrative services.

- Bibliographical information: this is a general approach, focusing on methodological elements and accompanied by a brief bibliography, possibly followed by referrals to relevant documentary resources.

- Answers to specific queries and quick information of all kinds, e.g. biographical, about the French language, art or business.

The service does not provide :

- Requests for the supply of documents: no sending of photocopies or documents.

- Competition questions.

- Requests to compile an exhaustive bibliography.

- Dissertation topics, philosophical or otherwise, recommendations for dealing with the subject of the dissertation, problems, plans.

- Requests that are too specialized will be redirected.

- Requests for specialized legal, medical or genealogical advice.
