Presentation of the unit

Created in 2004 by the University of Reims Champagne-Ardenne (URCA) by academic cardiologists and pharmacologists (Dir. Prof. Elaerts, then Prof. Millart), the EA 3801 (myocardial pre-conditioning) was restructured in 2008, by hosting hemostasis specialized academic researchers and physicians (Dir. Prof. Philippe Nguyen). In 2012, EA 3801 HERVI has been certified by the University of Reims Champagne-Ardenne.

The unit is located in the research building of the medical faculty of Reims (URCA) and the laboratory of hematology of the Academic Hospital (CHU) of Reims.

The EA 3801 HERVI unit studies the mechanisms of haemostasis involved during ischemia and reperfusion phenomena. The team is more specifically interested in the regulation of tissue factor expression by blood and endothelial cells: role of microenvironment and inflammation. It develops experimental models for the analysis of mechanisms involved in ischemia (pre- and post-myocardial conditioning, critical ischemia of the lower limbs). The laboratory is very involved in clinical work, supported by fundamental projects.
