PROCEDURE TO RENEW YOUR RESIDENCE PERMIT

To renew your residence permit online, log on to the ANEF platform (Administration Numérique des Etrangers en France):

https://administration-etrangers-en-france.interieur.gouv.fr

Once on the site, you must click on : "I would like to apply or renew my residence permit".

Consult the tutorial made by Campus France to help you in the process.

Residence permit as "Passeport Talent - Chercheur" can be renewed for 2 reasons :

  • when you continue working as a researcher or find a new job as a scientist in France and thus, have a new hosting agreement (convention d'accueil d'un chercheur ou d'un enseignant étranger - Cerfa 16079*03)
  • when your working contract ends under certain conditions (it is called Privation involontaire d'emploi /involuntary work deprivation)

In this second case, your residence permit can be extended for the time you are allowed to benefit from the Aide au Retour à l'Emploi .

The allocation d'Aide au Retour à l'Emploi (ARE) is a replacement income paid by Pôle emploi, under certain conditions, to people registered as jobseekers and involuntarily unemployed.

Do learn more about how to register to Pôle emploi and benefit from the ARE: https://www.euraxess.fr/france/information-assistance/unemployment-rights

The application for renewal of the residence permit is to be made online on the platform ANEF (Administration Numérique des Etrangers en France):

RESIDENCE PERMIT "RECHERCHE D'EMPLOI / CREATION D'ENTREPRISE"

If you are an international student who has graduated from a French institution and you have completed your studies with a "étudiant" residence permit or you have stayed in France with a "Passeport Talent - Chercheur" residence permit and you have completed your research work, you can apply under certain conditions, for a "recherche d'emploi / création d'entreprise" (RECE) residence permit.

The RECE residence permit allows foreign students and researchers to stay in France at the end of their studies or research to look for a first job or to create a company.

It is valid for 12 months and is not renewable.

During its validity, the RECE residence permit authorizes its holder to work.

PLEASE NOTE :

The RECE residence permit does not apply to:

  • European students (nationals of a European Union country, the European Economic Area or Switzerland) who do not need a residence permit to work in France;
  • Algerian students, who are subject to a specific procedure;
  • Students from countries that have signed migration agreements with France. The latter can apply for a Autorisation Provisoire de Séjour (APS).
