To ensure that everyone has access to accommodation, France has set up a housing benefit system. These benefits are managed by the Caisse d’Allocation Familiale (CAF).

Depending on the type of accommodation you rent, your income and the members of your household, you may be eligible to apply to the CAF for one of the three types of housing benefit covered by this measure.

Housing benefit is means tested and paid depending on the number of people in your household.
