Exams and University diplomas

Continuous assessments and final exams are organised each semester. University diplomas are delivered as follows :

DUEF A1 (Diplôme Universitaire d’Études Françaises level A1)

DUEF A2 (Diplôme Universitaire d’Études Françaises level A2)

DUEF B1 (Diplôme Universitaire d’Études Françaises level B1)*

DUEF B2 (Diplôme Universitaire d’Études Françaises level B2)

DUEF C1 (Diplôme Universitaire d’Études Françaises level C1)

* At the CIEF, the DUEF B1 is divided into two levels and two diplomas: the DUEF B1.1, which confers a start of level B1 and the DUEF B1.2 which confers the level B1.

DUEF A1

*Diploma on 200 points

*Duration of training: one semester of approximately 210 hours.

*Exit level: level A1 (according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages)

DUEF A2


*Diploma on 200 points

*Duration of training: one semester of 210 hours.

*Entry level: A1 level

*Exit level: A2 level

DUEF B1.1


*Diploma on 200 points

*Duration of training: one semester of 218 hours.

*Entry level: A2 level

*Exit level: B1.1 level


DUEF B1.2

*Diploma on 300 points

*Duration of training: one semester of 210 hours.

*Entry level: B1.1 level

*Exit level: B1.2 level

DUEF B2


*Diploma on 300 points

*Duration of training: one semester of 210 hours.

*Entry level: B1.2 level

*Exit level: B2 level


DUEF C1


*Diploma on 300 points

*Duration of training: one semester of 210 hours.

*Entry level: B2 level

*Exit level: C1 level

These diplomas are harmonised with those of the 40 other French University Centres and members of the ADCUEFE (Association of Directors of University Centres for the Teaching of French to Foreigners).
