WHAT IS PACKAGING?

Packaging covers any type of materials, it is designed to contain, protect and preserve merchandise, to allow it to be handled and transported from the manufacturer to the user, and to ensure its presentation and sales to the ultimate consumers in sound conditions . It also refers to the action of putting a product into a package.

Now, packaging follows an ecologically-friendly and sustainable approach from its design to its end life.

WHAT DOES A PACKAGING PROJECT MANAGER DO?

The packaging engineer mostly works on design and development, optimisation, choice of materials, packaging printing, specifications, technical monitoring, testing . The packaging engineer has to take into account economic issues, migrations, legislation, environment and packaging disposal.

In addition, a packaging engineer also needs to determine the packaging process techniques , understand the assembly lines, work and ensure high-quality production while integrating traceability and logistics and cost optimisation..

A packaging engineer manages , daily, a multitude of other tasks requiring different skills . He or she must be a skilled communicator and a team leader..
