FIRST CIRCULAR: 17TH ASA CONFERENCE (UNITED WITH 18TH HITRAN CONFERENCE) – UNIVERSITY OF REIMS – REIMS – FRANCE, AUGUST 26TH –28TH, 2026

The 17th Atmospheric Spectroscopy Applications (ASA) workshop will take place at the conference center of the Hyatt Centric Hotel, in 31, Boulevard Paul Doumer, Reims on August 26th-28th, 2026. This meeting will continue the union with the biennial HITRAN conference. It will begin on Wednesday of the week immediately preceding the Prague International Conference on Molecular Spectroscopy (PRAHA2026), allowing participants to attend both events conveniently.

This meeting will be dedicated to the following topics:

• Atmospheric measurements and observations

• Relevant new laboratory or calculated spectroscopic data

• New trends in atmospheric spectroscopy techniques and gas analysis

• Status and evolution of the molecular databases

• Database archiving, access and methodology

The meeting will feature special sessions on satellite measurements, climatology, planetology and astrophysics.

Call for Contributions:
Contributions to the meeting will be selected based on their relevance to the aforementioned topics and to the HITRAN and HITEMP databases. Scientific contributions will be presented as contributed lectures and poster presentations. We encourage posters promoting interaction among participants, and communications that present new research prior to peer-reviewed publication.

Registration and Fees:
Since space is limited (max. 100 participants), pre-registration is highly recommended.
A registration form will soon be available on the ASA website at
https://www.univ-reims.fr/asa-hitran/

The deadline for submitting the abstracts is 1st June, but we highly recommend early
submissions to Prof. M.-R. de Backer by e-mail at mr.debacker@univ-reims.fr.
You can make alterations to the abstracts prior to this deadline.
The registration fee (250 € for PhD students and 350 € for permanent scientists and postdocs) will cover the cost of the sessions, proceedings, and refreshments. The registration also includes lunches and a banquet ticket for the participant. Banquet tickets (90 €) for accompanying persons will be available for purchase separately.
Information about accommodations will be posted on the website at the time of the second circular.
