Nano-PHOT Graduate School

Appel d'offre : Ecoles universitaires de recherche (EUR) du Programme d’Investissement d’Avenir (PIA 3)

Durée : 2020-2030

Porteur : L2n, Université de Technologie de Troyes

Partenaires : Université de Reims Champagne-Ardenne (dont BioSpecT), ANR, CNRS

Résumé : The Nano-Phot Graduate School (GS) aims at offering an unparalleled programme of excellence, with an international dimension and in direct contact with scientific and socioeconomic stakes related to the use of light, on a nanometric scale and in a sustainable development approach. The Nano-Phot GS will bring a genuine structuration in UTT at Troyes and URCA at Reims sites by providing a new coherence to optics, photonics and nanotechnology courses and bringing it into line with the structuration of research by involving 4 CNRS units. Nano-Phot’s research program is focused on 4 themes: nano-optics emerging materials, nano(spectro)scopy and nanosensors, nano-optics fundamental phenomena and nanofabrication for nano-optics. The participation of the world’s best experts, the involvement of students in research projects starting from the first semester of master and students’ mentoring handled by a research professor and a doctoral student, will fulfil the objective of generating more doctorate students and attracting the best international students. The purpose of the GS is to generalise dual degrees’ curriculums, using the large network of international universities which will be extended by looking within G8 countries as well as emerging countries whose interest in high-tech is growing.

PHAST : Photonics for Healthcare: multiscAle cancer diagnosiS and Therapy

Appel d'offre : European Commission under the Horizon 2020 programme(Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions Innovative Training Network)

Durée : 2020-2024

Porteur : Université de Parmes

Partenaires : Université de Reims Champagne-Ardenne (dont BioSpecT), Université de Turin, Leibniz Institute of Photonic Technology, Ecole polytechnique de Milan, ICFO, Medical University of Vienna, Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena, ...

Résumé : The European Training Network PHAST (Photonics for Healthcare: multiscAle cancer diagnosiS and Therapy) provides excellent, highly-skilled education and training in the vibrant field of Biophotonics for 15 Early Stage Researchers (ESRs) which will be enrolled in a strong multidisciplinary PhD programme. PHAST addresses some relevant unmet needs of the medical community in prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer (one of the leading causes of death worldwide) to significantly improve the quality of life for European society. The ESRs (PhD students) will be trained to all the technologies through hands-on laboratory platforms, thematic workshops and courses to build solid careers as biophotonics professionals in both academic and nonacademic sectors. This will be possible thanks to the multidisciplinary environment created by the PHAST consortium, composed of research institutions, 2 hospitals and 8 industries from 7 European Countries, among them specialized small companies as well as global players in the field such as Horiba, Philips and Zeiss.
