Half day trip to Verzy/Champagne cellars (45 euros)

The Faux of Verzy

Situated between Reims and Epernay, the Reims mountain Regional Nature Park extends over 50,000 hectares. The Faux de Verzy is one of the most highly prized walks for the people of Reims starting on the plateau of the Montagne de Reims from the village of Verzy.

The national forest populated by more than a thousand twisted beeches, the famous faux, is held to be the greatest reserve in the world of this tree with the angled trunk and the twisted branches, 4 or 5 metres high. The faux are interesting in winter for their structure and in summer for their leaves that form a sort of igloo.

It is said that Joan of Arc would have had a siesta there in 1429.

The Champagne Cellar

One famous Champagne cellar will be visited with an accompanying guide. During the visit, it will be explained the manufacture of champagne, the history of the champagne house and you will discover the galleries of the cellar where are stored the champagne bottles. The visit will finish by tasting a champagne glass!
