A University Component

The National Higher Institute of Teaching and Education (INSPÉ) of the Reims Academy is one of the 20 component institutes integrated within the University of Reims Champagne-Ardenne (URCA), covering the entire academy.

Our teams work closely with the central university services and the various Training and Research Units (UFRs) and are fully committed to optimize our training programs and address the various challenges of higher education: initial and continuing education, the development of educational research, international cooperation, as well as guidance, career integration, and the success of our students.

To achieve this, the Inspé has a team of approximately 85 teaching staff and 44 administrative staff spread throughout the Reims academy, from the Ardennes department (08) to Haute-Marne (52).

A Strong Regional Network

Our insitute is a key player in the local area, established across four departments and five different cities: Châlons-en-Champagne, Charleville-Mézières, Chaumont, Reims, and Troyes.

The Inspé operates at the regional scale as a component of the University, in partnership with the Rectorat of the Academy, and numerous other institutional partners (social and local authorities) and private sector professionals (such as companies, assocation, and etc.).

Its purpose is to offer internship opportunities for its students and propose professional contracts, particularly in primary education (teaching assistants called "AED"), starting by the 2nd year of the Bachelor's degree. Work-study programs are also an option through the "Professionalization in Trainng" (called MEEF PIF) program and its associated pathways.

This regional network makes the Institute a significant contributor to the Champagne-Ardenne region.

Our Training Programs

Our Training Programs

The 18 pathways that make up the INSPÉ's training programs are integrated into a learning continuum, from the baccalaureate to the final year of the Master's degree (5 years). These pathways are gathered within two distinct diplomas:

  • The Bachelor's degree in Educational Sciences, with its 3 pathways
  • The Master's degree in Teaching, Education, and Training (MEEF), with its 4 specializations: Primary Education, Secondary Education, Educational Management, and Training Practices and Engineering

This continuum promotes a progressive skills development, encompassing the theoretical and professional knowledge expected by the end of the MEEF Master's program. This process makes the integration of new education/teaching/training professionals easier into their roles and careers.

The training programs are designed based on a principle of integrative work-study, with internship periods starting in the 2nd year of the Bachelor's degree: observation internships in schools and also outside the National Education system, abroad, etc.

Finally, our Master's program integrates modules to prepare students for the competitive recruitment examinations for the French National Education system.

Open to the world

Inspé considers the internationalization of its training offer a key priority.

  • The objective is to ensure that every student has the opportunity to undertake at least one mobility experience during their studies, particularly through the Observation and Accompanied Practice Internships
  • Inspé relies on established partnerships, including 13 specifically tailored for our institution.
  • These agreements facilitate departures abroad under ideal conditions, supported by our dedicated international relations team across 4continents.
  • These mobility opportunities are integrated into the curriculum and the diploma.

An increasing number of students are seeking outgoing mobility at Inspé: 64 participated in the univeritary year of 2023-2024. Inspé also welcomes students and professionals from foreign universities.

This strategy is bolstered by the support of the University of Reims Champagne-Ardenne, which boasts:

  • 406 agreements with university partners
  • 335 Erasmus+ partnerships

Research and Pedagogical Engineering

Research and Pedagogical Engineering

Within its 'MEEF' master's program, the "Pratiques et Ingénierie de la Formation" specialization offers three pathways focused on pedagogical engineering across various themes:

  • CIREF (Conception et Intervention, Recherche en éducation et Formation)
  • IeFUN (Usage du numérique)
  • IDT (Inégalités, Discriminations et Territoires)

These pathways target careers in training within public institutions, businesses, and the non-profit sector. They are particularly suitable for individuals looking to change their professional trajectory, featuring hybrid teaching methods and the option to complete the programs through work-study arrangements.

Practice and through educational research is a vital component of the programs offered by Inspé, especially in the MEEF master’s, which includes an introduction to research and the completion of a professional thesis.
