Presentation

The Mission for equal opportunities is partner of the Monitoring Centre for Students Occupational Integration. It aims at supporting people coming from different social backgrounds for equal access and success in Higher Education.

Missions:
Via the Mission, the University wishes to promote democratisation for access to higher education: it aims at developing the ambition of all high school students, particularly those with a scholarship, to enter University, even for long studies without social or representation obstacle.

Actions:
The Mission mostly works with students of the final two high school years, via the "Filières d'Excellence" programme, so that they get the opportunity to discover higher education environment. They visit campuses, meet teachers and students, get information on careers and professional environment. They also get a chance to develop their culture with outings to theatre and museums, etc.

The Mission also focuses on fresh Undergraduate Degree students by analysing their integration at University, their experience, success, difficulties. The Mission develops tools to help students educational success (testimonies on the degree presentation leaflets at the University Information and Counselling Department, translation of the professional second year of Master’s Degrees internships so as to show students the relevancy of internship missions).
Two optional Teaching Units (UET) are implemented: one focusing on students’ career path project and one focusing on student involvement.

The Mission works in close collaboration with the Relais Etudiants (guidance for prosecution of studies).

Effort is made on teacher support: construction of a Guide on PPP courses (Personalised Professional Project).

Research:
The Research Group for Equal Opportunities (GREC) aims at assessing implemented actions and considering the relevancy of new directions and degrees.

Several research projects have been carried out (surveys before 2nd year of Undergraduate Degree students, high school students, interviews, etc). Click on the right to see the results.
