Research Axis 1 - Topic Description

The low-density lipoprotein receptor-related protein-1 (LRP-1) is a large multifunctional endocytic receptor mediating the clearance of various molecules from the extracellular matrix. Our recent works clarified the endocytic and signaling functions of LRP-1 in the field of tumors and highlighted that LRP-1 contributes to control adhesion dynamics of malignant cells. Through multidisciplinary approaches (biology, physics, imaging), we attempt to identify and decipher the molecular mechanisms involving endocytosis in tumor progression. Our main project focuses on the functional molecular interplay between LRP-1 and extracellular matrix-associated components in the tumor context.
